WOW! I didn't realize it had been so long since I shared with ya'll. So much has happened since my 1st and last entry. When I started my little business just one year ago I had no idea I would have the success I've had thus far and I am so grateful. My Etsy store was closed by Etsy in June, 2011 and a few weeks after I received a call from a People Magazine rep. asking for samples of my creations as they wanted to showcase them in the August 29, 2011 issue. Problem was I didn't have a store and I wouldn't/ couldn't be considered for the magazine if I didn't have a shop before the issue hit the stands in August. I had two weeks to get set up and so I rush rush rushed and worked LONG hours to make this deadline and curlyvalentine.com was up and running two days before the magazine hit the stands and my life has been insane since then. Orders were coming in every half hour or so and I was excited, nervous, terrified, happy.....I just didn't know If I would be able to fill the orders as every single one my creations is made to order by hand, by me! I gave myself a whole day to freak out....the following day I woke up at 4:00 a.m. armed with an extra large cup of coffee and my handy dandy little scissors and I started cutting and sewing my day away-literally! After a few months and 7 lbs gained (as I sat most of the day) things have finally slowed down enough to where I have some time for new creations and lots of family time and I LOVE IT! I don't know what the future holds for Curly Valentine but I've decided to not worry so much of what my next step should or could be and just enjoy the journey and be creative....♥
